Cambridgeshire Branch

The MND Association

Welcome To The Cambridgeshire Branch Webpage

The Cambridgeshire Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association has been in existence for a number of years and is dedicated to supporting people with Motor Neurone Disease, their partners, carers and families in the County.

MND is an incurable condition that paralyses the muscles leaving people unable to do the everyday things the rest of us take for granted. Walking, talking and swallowing may become virtually impossible, yet the mind and senses are rarely affected.

We provide practical support and help through our group of trained Association Visitors, regular Get-Togethers in Peterborough and Warboys, and the provision of specialist equipment to improve the quality of life for all those affected by the disease.

Our Branch Get-Togethers are very informal and friendly, providing an opportunity for everyone to exchange views and share experiences. We also often invite a speaker, sometimes for entertainment, sometimes to give important, relevant information. Everyone is welcome.

Fundraising and raising awareness are also very important aspects of Branch activities, and we organise several events throughout the year which are well supported.

We have a bi-monthly Branch Newsletter which is sent to all our Branch Members.

If you would like to make a difference in someone’s life then consider becoming an Association Visitor (AV).  The Cambridgeshire Branch has a dedicated and friendly team AVs who visit people living with MND and keep in touch by telephone and email. More information is available in the Association Visitor Recruitment Pack.
